About Chad Jensen

I’m the founder and writer behind Jensen Copy.

I help businesses turn complicated, unfamiliar, or downright boring subjects into clear content that sounds like it came from the people who know the business best.

I didn’t take the usual route into professional writing, and that’s turned out to be one of my biggest advantages.

I Took the Long Way Into Writing

I grew up between the Bay Area and rural Oregon, and my working life has covered a lot more ground than my current desk would suggest.

Before Jensen Copy, I remodeled cruise ships, went to commercial dive school, traveled the country doing underwater repair work, drove commercially, worked with propane systems, handled sales and marketing, and installed networking equipment inside a major data center.

Writing came later.

Learning New Subjects Has Always Been Part of the Job

Those careers had very little in common on the surface, but they all required the same basic skill: getting up to speed quickly.

When you’re working underwater, dealing with propane equipment, or installing network hardware, you can’t fake an understanding of how something works. You ask questions, learn the terminology, find the right information, and pay attention to the details.

That same approach now shapes how I write.

My work has covered eCommerce, SaaS, technology, retail, e-bikes, consumer products, marketing, and plenty of subjects that don’t fit neatly into one category.

I don’t need to spend years inside an industry before I can write about it. I need good information, solid research, and a clear understanding of who will read it.

Why Work With Jensen Copy?

You shouldn’t have to teach a writer your entire business before getting something useful back.

Give me the subject, your audience, your goals, and whatever brand guidance you already have. I’ll do the research, learn how you communicate, and build the piece from there.

That might mean writing a detailed article from scratch, matching an established brand voice, working from a packed content brief, or taking a loose idea and figuring out what it needs to become.

The goal is simple: when I send the work back, it should feel like it belongs to your business.

What I Write

Most of my work falls somewhere between education and persuasion.

I write blog posts, SEO content, website copy, landing pages, email copy, guides, and other long-form content for businesses that need someone who can learn the subject and get the details right.

Some projects start with a detailed brief. Others start with little more than a topic and a goal.

I’m comfortable with both.

Have Something You Need Written?

You don’t need to have every detail nailed down before you reach out.

Tell me a little about your business, what you need written, and where you are in the process. I’ll take a look and let you know whether we’re a good fit.
